TOPICS DISCUSSED:

1. David Voykin called meeting to order.
2. First Order of Business – Bob Lehman reviewed today’s schedule of events.
3. Old Business – Joyce Lay distributed the Fall 2005 Meeting minutes. Keith Hodgins made a motion to accept the minutes. Ed Ybarra seconded. Motion passed.
4. Financial Business – Joyce Lay reviewed Current (April 2006) Treasurer’s Report as follows:
   • Beginning Balance, 8/31/05 $ 9,714.45
   • Receipts $ 9,835.38
   • Disbursements ($ 2,482.80)
   • Closing Balance, 3/31/06 $17,067.03
   Joe Thorner made a motion to accept Treasurer’s Report. Keith Hodgins seconded the motion. Motion passed.
5. Membership Update – John Houseman opened floor for introductions of new transfers.
6. National Update – Jim Diamantis reviewed the Board of Governors’ meeting held on 10/17/05 in Miami, FL.
   1. From 1995 to 2000, National saw larger expenses/losses than before
   2. Contracted with Scientific Societies in 2001 to administer the organization
   3. Beginning in 2001, future conventions are insured
   • Reserves – Jim Diamantis proposed through a motion that we “maintain financial reserves for the purpose of maintaining a viable organization.” Keith Hodgins seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous.
   • The amount maintained will be proposed to the Board of Governors during convention dates of September 17-21, 2006.
7. Publicity Chair – Dennis Schmidt had nothing to report.
8. Next Meeting –
   1. David Voykin discussed tentative plans for Fall Meeting during 10/6-8/06 at Shepard’s on Clearwater Beach. [Subsequently changed to Sheraton Sand Key Resort]
   2. Gary Evans discussed possible locations for the Spring 2007 Meeting. Recommendations were to look at Jekyll Island as first choice, then WGV- St. Augustine as a back-up location.
9. Technical Presentations – Keith Hodgins introduced technical speakers:
   
   1. Mike Fortin, Olin, manufacturer and producer of caustic
   2. Mike Mazur, Univar – technical “Manufacturing of Caustic and Market Overview”
   3. Lisa Madsen, Pall Corporation – “Membrane Filtration”
10. Keith Hodgins presented the “Presidential Cup” to John Houseman for his dedication and commitment as President, MBAA-District Southeast.
