The World Brewing Congress in Hawaii is here. The dates are Aug 2, 2008 to Aug 6, 2008. For more information please visit www.worldbrewingcongress.org This is a joint collaboration between the MBAA and the ASBC with active participation from the Brewery Convention of Japan, the European Brewery Convention, and the Institute of Brewing & Distilling. Look for highlights on the WBC next month.

Next District meeting will be held at Rahr Malting Co. in Shakopee, MN on September 10, 2008. Chris German will send out details later in the month.

Events around town:

Aug 1, 2008 5pm – 8pm : The Beanery in Aitkin, Minnesota will host a free tasting of beer from Brau Brothers on August 1st from 5-8pm. The Beanery is located at 209 Minnesota Ave. N., for more information call the Beanery at (218) 927-7811. Thanks Patrick!

Aug 16, 2008 12pm – 10pm : This event is bound to be as crazy as the previous two… Head on over to Groveland Tap on Saturday, August 16th from noon to 10pm. Enjoy $1 pints of all Summit beer, $1 brats, $1 chicken kabobs & 25 cent wings. $5 cover. This event includes a raffle to benefit First Tee and includes prizes like concert tickets and a foursome of golf at the Wilds.

No results from the June golf outing have been reported as of yet. Please look for the event highlights next month.

Jim Lonetti, district president, is encouraging all members to utilize our web site for news of their brewery, business, etc.... Feel free to publicize any information such as newly released beers, new products, employees or anything else. If anyone has suggestions for the website, please feel free to contact me.
