Craft Brewer Membership Sponsored by Vendors in District Western New York

Craft brewer Bill Janisko, of Ithaca Beer Company, won a MBAA membership sponsored by the Chisholm Corporation at the District Western New York meeting in May. The idea for the sponsorship came about as a result of a roundtable discussion at the February meeting while looking for ways to increase participation by the craft brewing segment of upstate New York. As it has been put into practice, one vendor is able to sponsor a meeting for a fee equal to one membership. For that fee the vendor can set up a tabletop display to show attendees. Any non-member craft brewer who attends the meeting can put their name into a hat to be drawn at the end of the meeting. The winner fills out their membership application at the meeting and the Treasurer sends it in with a check. The first sponsorship seemed to go over very well and plans are to continue the program.
